Conservation of ecosystem diversity and wild sheep in Central Asia
The project brings together specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia to study and conserve wild sheep populations.
About the project
WISPA-CA (Wild Sheep Partnership for Central Asia) is a partnership of conservation organizations and specialists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia working to conserve wild sheep and the ecosystems they inhabit.
Partnership members share field survey data, coordinate research on populations and habitats, and jointly develop approaches to protecting rare and vulnerable species across Central Asia. The key data collection tool is the WISPA Survey mobile app, which observers use to submit routes and animal and vegetation sightings into a shared fieldwork library.
